So we are taught to work on our weakness :
I say go with your strength -
I have found in the last five years that I have repeatedly tried to shore up my weakness in regards to my fine art / painting rather then go with my strengths- trying to make something look a certain way, stylize things so they will be excepted.. but constantly avoiding my greatest strength, joy and passions…namely color and forms in a abstract manner that speak for themselves:
as a well known post abstract painter Mark Rothko put it – ” expressing ( painting ) feelings rather then illustrating them…” the man was deep – another quote by him – his goal – ” to take people somewhere through his work that they will be able to recover their humanity”"…dang!!!
